About this project
Coca-Cola is a multinational beverage corporation, known for its flagship carbonated soft drink and wide range of non-alcoholic beverages. With operations in over 200 countries, it's one of the world's most recognized brands and largest beverage companies, known for its global presence, iconic marketing, and significant economic impact.
"World Without Waste" is Coca-Cola's ambitious global initiative aimed at tackling the issue of packaging waste. The program focuses on making all of the company's packaging 100% recyclable by 2025 and collecting and recycling the equivalent of every bottle or can it sells globally by 2030.
Coca-Cola aimed to educate people on the importance of recycling through a promotional game with a code found in bottle caps, with the campaign site designed to be user-friendly, visually appealing, and fast, integrating seamlessly with existing Coca-Cola services and systems. The campaign site development project was managed by Dentsu Creative, which also created the UX/UI design plans, while WRD Labs developed/implemented them.

Challenges
- Due to a tight deadline, with discussions starting in late November and the campaign launch set for January 1st, timely execution was critical.
- The previous system's design and UX were inadequate, leading to high churn, necessitating the development of a more user-friendly solution.
- Integrating with existing Coca-Cola systems was essential.
Solution
- Dentsu designed the UX/UI in Figma, with WRD providing technical guidance.
- WRD collaborated with the Coca-Cola representative to seamlessly integrate the new site into Coca-Cola's existing ecosystem
- WRD developed middleware to validate authentication tokens and interface with Coca-Cola APIs.
- WRD built the frontend using Next.js, integrating Coca-Cola libraries for login and registration, and added a grey skeleton loading feature.
- WRD set up both the AWS production and test environments and deployed the system to these environments.
